He began his professional career at Tusculum University, and then went on to work as a Niswonger Foundation i3 College and Career Counselor for Washington County, and Bristol City schools through an i3 grant. Once that grant ended, he worked as an Academic Advisor for the College of Arts & Sciences at ETSU, before returning to the world of college access with the Niswonger Foundation in the Fall of 2016, where he serves as an Associate Director of the NiswongerCARE program.
In his spare time, Shawn is also a part-time Adjunct Professor at ETSU, where he teaches online courses for the Department of Counseling and Human Services.Shawn is a native of Morristown. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology from East Tennessee State University. Shawn also received his Master of Arts degree in Counseling from ETSU as well.
