Hi, everyone! My name is Jasmine Martin, and I’m from Morristown, TN. I graduated from Morristown East High in 2018 and went on to get a B.A. in Communications from The University of Tennessee- Knoxville as a Niswonger Scholar!
While in college, I participated in several extracurricular activities, but my favorite was serving as a student fellow for the National College Attainment Network (NCAN). My work with NCAN ignited my passion for advocacy work, especially in regards to higher education access, so I’m thrilled to be a NiswongerCARE Advisor to further that passion and desire!
After graduation, I served with the Americorps under Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. In this role, I packaged and distributed summer meals to students around Greene County. Having the opportunity to serve the region in such an impactful way has only strengthened my desire to give back as much as possible!!
For now, my future plans are to continue in this position for the years to come. This work is exactly what I want to do, and I’m truly blessed to be able to say that!
In my free time, I enjoy going on hikes, spending time with family and friends, painting, crocheting, reading to children, and spoiling my four cats!!
