Hi my name is Keaton Johnson. I grew up in the mountains of Elizabethton TN, where I currently reside. I graduated from Elizabethton High School in 2017 and continued my education at East Tennessee State University the following Fall semester. There I received a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with a double minor in Legal and Family studies in December of 2020. My original intention was to pursue law school and become a Child Advocacy attorney. In my time at ETSU, I realized my heart was called more toward direct service and interaction with youth. Upon graduation I worked in the Juvenile Court of Carter County. In my experience during that time, I realized a need for advocates in students' lives, who encourage and support them outside of their home environment. This led me to pursue a Masters degree in School Counseling from Milligan University, which I am currently acquiring.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. I am an Enneagram enthusiast, Harry Potter fanatic, and lover of travel. I currently work as a Student leader for the after school program at East Side elementary, as well as Substitute teach within Elizabethton City Schools.
Working with students is my passion and I am extremely grateful to be serving as a Niswonger CARE advisor at Cloudland High School and University High School.
