My Story

Hello All! My name is Chloe Miller. Originally from Abingdon, Virginia, I relocated to
Greeneville, Tennessee to begin serving as a NiswongerCARE Advisor for West Greene High School!

Having received my degree in Psychology with a concentration in Human Services from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in December of 2025, I am beyond excited to work with students from all walks of life in an area very close to my heart beginning this fall.

Before my time with the Niswonger Foundation, I served as a Middle School English Tutor back in my hometown. While I absolutely loved getting to work one-in-one with sixth, seventh, and eighth graders last spring, the mission of broadening access to education, specifically higher education, is one I am very passionate about. Having the opportunity to expand the horizons of students in Appalachia and to encourage their pursuit of college and career has been one of the biggest blessings in my life!

When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time on South Holston Lake with my family, in the
garden with my plants, playing outside with my two dogs, Paisley and Ellie Mae, curled up with a good book and my cats, Serafina and Charlie, or going on a spontaneous coffee or dinner date with my boyfriend, Beckett. Despite my preference for a chill night in with those I love, traveling to new places, trying new foods, and meeting new people are the most enriching experiences of my life!

I have always been the kind of person who was never sure of what exactly they wanted to do
when they finally grew up, and I encourage my students to explore all of their options with an open mind. It is never, ever too late to change your mind, your plans, or your path. Not only is my job to prepare seniors for attending college or pursuing a career, but my job is also to help all of my students envision themselves as happy, healthy individuals who live fulfilling, prosperous lives. I absolutely understand how stressful and overwhelming a new chapter of life can be, and I am absolutely honored to have the opportunity to help others begin writing their own story!
