Hello! My name is Alyssa Gibson. I am a native to East TN and was born and raised in Kingsport. I currently live in Johnson City, and love living in the mountains.
 
I was homeschooled my entire life until I graduated from high school in 2016. From there I continued on to Milligan College. I entered college as a Communications and Public Relations major, but after several classes and conversations I realized that that was not where my heart was. I finally ended up with a degree in business management and a minor in social work. I also attended Milligan on an athletic scholarship and spent all four years on the volleyball team, and still love playing and coaching.
 
I am a very outgoing person, and I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love adventure and traveling, and try to seize every opportunity I can. During my college career I interned with a local non-profit and spent a summer studying abroad with a non-profit refuge house in Cebu, Philippines. Both of these experiences helped me solidify my desire to help people by building relationships and creating sustainable solutions to prevalent issues. Because of this, I am very excited to be starting my first year as a NiswongerCARE advisor and I am very excited for the opportunity to meet and grow alongside these students.
